Power of an Invitation

I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile.
Romans 1:16

Hubby had been encouraging me to listen to a testimony on Brannon Howse's show. It was the story of Joseph, a once Muslim son of a Hamas leader and now the son of God the Father...Aleluya!

On his show, Brannon interviewed Joseph's Pastor, Matt Smith, who also has an incredible testimony.

What wows me about this story, is not that the Lord revealed Himself to Joseph, it was how He did so. Joseph was invited by a Christian to attend a Bible study and given a Bible. That was it! Joseph later began reading it alongside the Quran and was convicted by the Holy Spirit.

Had it not been for the courage of this nameless (to us, but not to God) Christian who invited Joseph in Middle East (of all places) to a Bible study, we would not know Joseph's story for he would have none worthy of praise.

I too, along with hubby, came to know the Lord because of a simple invitation from our now Co-Pastor.

So don't be discouraged in your work for the Lord. Continue to preach the Gospel. It doesn't have to be from a pulpit, it can be in the streets or in a funeral home, which is where God invited me.

  1. Praise the Lord Karen. There are many times that we feel as though handing out a tract, or sending an email is not doing much. Later down the road we come to find out that every seed you plant will someday start to germinate. I found a old college friend that use to share the gospel with John and I. We were never rude to him and we would barely listen, but it was so great to tell him that the seed he planted in us along with countless others did fall on fertile ground and it is by God's glory that we can call him our brother. Never feel discouraged to share the gospel even to those who are seemingly not listening!

  2. How beautiful on the mountains
are the feet of those who bring good news,
    who proclaim peace,
    who bring good tidings,
    who proclaim salvation,
    who say to Zion,
    "Your God reigns!"
    Isaiah 52:7
